Public Hearing to Discuss Split Tax Rate

The council will be discussing the split tax rate in a public hearing on November 17th:

PUBLIC HEARING for the purposes of setting the tax classification so that the necessary votes can be taken to determine the percentage of the local tax levy to be borne by each class of property for fiscal year 2010.

Although I am not yet a city councilor, I welcome your thoughts and concerns.

Who should manage the Attleboro Industrial Business Park?

Downtown Redevelopment – Good for the City?

This is a very ambitious plan that will cost a significant amount of money, granted most of the financing coming from matching state and federal funds. However, does anyone else wonder what the city will do if they build all the new condos along Ten Mile River as part of the development and then can’t sell them? Will the city be left “holding the bag” adding to an ever increasing debt burden in a fiscally challenging environment?
